The Annual Governance and Accountability Review (AGAR) ensures that parish councils are managing public funds responsibly and in accordance with legal requirements. It promotes transparency, accountability, and good governance in local government operations, ultimately serving the best interests of the community and taxpayers.
This process is governed by the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and is overseen by the external auditor.
Parish Precept
The Parish Council precept is the amount of money the Parish Council receives out of the Council Tax collected by Somerset Council. The total precept for 25/26 is £24,000.
